James Anderson Future Predictions According to Me

James Anderson is one of the greatest bowler of all time for England. Not only for England who is the best bowler for world cricket. Most of the fans called him ‘King of the Swing’. The meaning of his nickname is the ability to swing the bowl. His swing bowls have created so many problems for the best batsmen in the world. He is an awesome bowler in English tracks and those tracks are ideal for swing bowling.

Jimmy Anderson started his international career in 2002 against Australia. Then he started test career in 2003 against Zimbabwe. After that, he is a regular member of the English test team. He was born in 1982 and now he is 38 years old. He played his last test against South Africa in 2020. Soon after he faced an injury and lost the other two test matches. His future is very doubtful and I believe he will retire from cricket soon.

All cricket matches in the world are stops due to Coronavirus. This will make no more matches to play for him and it’s better to retire for at this stage. Anderson has played 151 matches and taken 584 test wickets. He is the leading wicket-taker for a fast bowler in world cricket. Coronavirus will make no matches to play within England and which will most of the time make Anderson to quick his retirement.

Anderson has done brilliant service for England cricket. This has made to get Knighthood for him and he received Queen’s order in 2015. He has struggled so many powerful batting units in English tracks and finally takes his team into victory. He was received nice support from the other side when he was bowling. Stuart Broad the man who was regular supported him from the other side. They have together break 500+ wickets and it is the best bowling partnership for England forever.

Anderson contributes the English team to win 2009, 2013, and 2015 ashes for England. This has made him proud and it was the biggest win for him. Jimmy stopped playing ODI cricket in 2015 due to their poor performance in 2015 cricket world cup. England eliminated from the tournament after losing the match against Bangladesh. This made him retire from one day cricket. It was finally became a good decision for him and he succeed in the test cricket. However, Anderson is the most ODI wicket-taker for England.

He has taken 100+ wickets in Lord's cricket ground and only Muttiah Muralidharan achieved this effort before. As a cricket fan, I loved his bowling against India in 2018. Indian batsman was facing many difficulties when facing him and who took many wickets. He has trapped Virat Kholi on so many occasions. But Kholi then loves to play against him in English soil.

However, I can believe James Anderson will retire from cricket soon after the Coronavirus case. If he receives a match or series, it will his final series for England as a home series. Anderson still believes he can play England country cricket for a few more years. This is hopeful to see what will happen in the future. I still believe Jimmy will end his career this year.

MS Dhoni future predictions are undoubtedly for all over his fans over the world. I am personally a good fan of him and I am expecting he will play 2020 t20 world cup. However, the tournament will not be held this year due to the corona case. If it happens, most of the time he has to leave International cricket. MS Dhoni is one of the greatest Indian cricketers of all time. Dhoni is 40 years of the old man when coming to the next year. So, he will not get any chance to represent the national side again.

We, everybody, know how difficult to represent the Indian Cricket team for any format. Every Indian cricketer is a champion and or talented. Dhoni also talented one and played his role nicely to his team. He takes India to no 1 for both test rankings and ODI rankings. He is the best ever captain for India at all times. I have seen many times, he took India to victory in various difficult occasions. After the 2015 cricket world cup, he lost his captaincy and Virat became the Indian Captain. Dhoni also failed as a batsman.

The biggest achievement of MS Dhoni was the 2011 Cricket World Cup win. He captained the Indian team and played his role as a batsman in the whole tournament. Then he led the team to win the 2013 champions trophy. He failed in the 2014 t20 world cup and 2015 cricket world cup also. As a leader, he brought 2007 t20 world cup to their country. He has done a lot of things in his country as a leader. His ability to bat in the pressure situations is very much awesome. I love his batting style and enjoyed the first time in 2004 against Pakistan.

Dhoni is 39 years old now and he has to retire from cricket soon. When considering his fitness level I can predict he will play 2 more years for cricket. But I am not sure he will play for his country as an international cricketer. Definitely, he will play IPL 2021 and which will consider his ability to play for more cricket.

Young cricketers need to learn from him and he needs to share his experience with all newbie Indian players. I know Virat Kholi also learned a lot from Dhoni. Like Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh’s international career will end after the corona case.

I hope Dhoni will become a coach for his country. He has plenty of knowledge about cricket. In the future, his position will represent Rishab Pant. He is another good batsman and a good wicket-keeper. But I never saw he is taking India to victory like Dhoni. He has to learn from Dhoni.

I am the biggest Dhoni fan from Sri Lanka. But I am sad to say he will never play for his country again. I expect he will play IPL in the next season. He has many fans around the world. The memories with him are unforgettable. He has done everything for his country. He is further an honorable and respectable man. I am saying goodbye to him.

 

 

 

 

Kusal Mendis is a Future Star for Sri Lanka Cricket

Kusal Mendis was the most discussed cricketer for Sri Lanka in the recent past. Many cricket fans in Sri Lanka argue with the Cricket board about his performances. He was from the Moratuwa area in Sri Lanka. Prince of Wales College was the school for Mendis and for his cricketing career. Chaminda Vaas and Lahiru Thirimanna were the other famous cricketers from the Moratuwa area. Kusal has played 44 test matches so far and scored 2995 runs. This include 7 test centuries. He has scored 2000+ ODI runs with 2 centuries. Kusal was lucky to qualify for the national team without playing first-class cricket. He was the captain for Sri Lanka in under 19 world cup in 2014.

Kusal was born in 1995 and represented the national team in 2015 when he was in 20 years. His first test series against west indies and he was showing his talent to the world in a swinging condition. Then he was going to the New Zealand and failed to make big knocks. He was showing his magic skills in 2016 home series against Australia. He played 176 runs against Australia in the first test and which helped Sri Lanka to win the game. That series was a whitewash for them and It was the first winning series for Sri Lanka against Australia. Rangana Herath was the man who blasted the Aussies batsmen and which finally make them 0-3 lost in Asia. After the series, most of the Sri Lankan fans believed Mendis will be the key batsman for them in the future.

2017 champions trophy was another tournament where Mendis was highlighted. Sri Lanka’s magic win against India in champions trophy was surprised by the millions of Indians and it was hurt them hard. Mendis scored 89 runs in that match and which contribute their team to chase mammoth 322 run chase in English conditions. He played against Bumrah, Ashwin, and Jadeja really well and that inning was destroyed their trust in bowling. Everybody believed India will win the game and finally, all were shocked. Then the Indian cricket team came to Sri Lanka for full series. Sri Lanka lost the test series for 3-0. But Mendis played a superb inning in the second test and which was most of the fans were discussed. I also surprised his inning against a powerful Indian bowling attack. He played sweep shot very easily against Ashwin and Jadeja.

2018 was another special year for Mendis and he made 1000 runs in the calendar year. In the early period of 2018, he played his highest score of 194 for Sri Lanka against Bangladesh. Mendis’s contribution was huge to win the series. That year was unbelievable for him. But he was failed in ODI cricket.

Sri Lanka toured New Zealand in the early period of 2019. It was a series that Mendis was also highlighted. Both Mendis and Mathews bat the whole day together and helped Sri Lanka to save the test match. But they lost the next game and further lost the series. Mendis scored 143 runs and made a partnership of unbeaten 287.

2019 ICC cricket world cup also an unsuccessful series for him. He was failed to make a good contribution for the team and which make Sri Lanka to eliminate from the first round of the series. After the world cup, he worked hard and succeeded in the next series. Last ODI series against West Indies was another good series for him. He scored a mammoth 119 runs and which helped Sri Lanka to save the series and finally to win the series.

However, I can say he is a future star for Sri Lanka cricket. Mendis doesn’t have consecutive in their career. That is the thing he should improve. He is a good batsman for no 4 positions in a test match. Selectors used him different positions in t20 cricket. But he was failed in that format and he also needs to improve it.

2023 World Cup will be his next goal and he will work hard to play that tournament. He is 25 years old and further he can face 3 more world cups for his country. Sri Lankan selectors should protect him to play more cricket.

 

2004 Champions Trophy Semi-Final Match Review

England Vs Australia in Edbanghston

2004 champions trophy was an unforgettable series for me. I was a 10 years old boy and that series helped me to love cricket more. Unfortunately, my home team already out of the tournament in the first round. But I watched the semi-final due to my interest in cricket. Before the match, I bet Australia with my heart. But the match belonged to England.

Australia was the number one ODI side in the world when coming to the series. But the benefit of home soil helped the England team to get the win. I was expecting the winner of the Australia team and anyhow England finished the match by surprising me. The match was held at Edbanghston cricket ground in Birmingham.

Australia bat first and put a score of 259/9 within their 50 overs. They lost few quick wickets within a few overs in the early and the middle. Anyhow Damien Martin played a brilliant inning of 65. The quick 42 of the Michael Clarke helped them a lot to take them to 250 marks. Other batsmen were failed to get many runs. England bowlers bowl well and they controlled the Aussie batsmen very well. Darren Gough became the star for them and who got 3 wickets for 48. English captain bowled well and took 2 wickets for 42 runs.

This is too much less score when considering the batting power of the Australia cricket team. Gilcrist, Heyden, Ponting was failed to get a big score and which affect them to restrict to 259. Otherwise, they could have to get 300+ and put the England team on pressure. However, they had a brilliant bowling unit staring at Glenn Mcgrath and Brett Lee.

England started their inning and lost the early wicket of Wickham Solanki. Then set Marcus Trescothick to Michael Vaughan and put 150+ partnership. It was the base to get the victory for England. Michael Vaughan was the captain of the English team and who played a great inning of 86 with beautiful boundaries. Marcus, on the other hand, played a magic inning of 81. I have seen both players were playing amazing cricket in their home soils. Michael Vaughan then became my star after watched his great knock. Marcus also my favorite English cricketer. Andrew Strauss finished the game very quickly and England won the game by saving 21 more bowls in their inning.

Brett Lee took two wickets. But English batsmen were grab 65 runs from him and Glenn Macgrath also failed in their bowling in this match. Michael Vaughan became the man of the match for his great knock and bowling performance.

England qualified to the final and Australia were eliminated from the tournament. However, the England team lost the final match and West Indies became the winners by defeating them 2 wickets. That tournament was awesome for me in my childhood and I loved most of the cricketers in all cricket teams. I hated Australia and I cheer when they lost and match. It was the time I saw the most powerful Australian team in world cricket. It certifies that they became 3 consecutive world cup winners in 1999,2003 and 2007.

Sri Lanka Should Recall Angelo Mathews and Thisara Perera Again for the Team

 Sri Lankan Cricket Team is now showing very poor all-round performance against the Australian Cricket Team. They all out 118 in the second t20 game yesterday. Australian bowlers controlled Sri Lankan batsmen from the beginning. But Sri Lankan batsman had no answer against Mitchell Stainlake and Pat Cummings. Adam Zampa and Agar controlled very well in the middle overs.

Kusal Mendis once again showed some poor batting performances and who ran out for only 1 run. Danushaka Gunathilake tried hard to hit bit shots. But he also out for 21 runs. Avishka Fernando who was replaced for Bhanuka Rajapaksha scored 17 runs. Kusal Perera was started well and scored a quick 27. But he also panicked against Australian Spinners. Both Dasun Shanaka and Niroshan Dickwella had no answers against bowlers. Finally, Sri Lankan lower-order batsmen took to the 118. This score is not enough for powerful Australian batting line up.

Sri Lankan bowlers had to deliver some magical deliveries to win the match. But bowlers struggled against Smith and Warner. Both batsmen were scored half-centuries and won the match very easily. The inexperience showed by all the young Sri Lankan players and they need to rethink who are the best batsman against Australian fast bowlers.

Sri Lanka should recall Angelo Mathews once again with Thisara Perera. Dasun Shanaka should replace by Thisara and Wanidu Hasarnga will replace by Dhananjaya de Silva in the t20 world cup. I hope Sri Lanka will play better in the final t20 match at Melbourne on Friday.

Bangladesh Lost Shakib Al Hasan due to Suspect of Match Fixing

 Last day we heard a cricket news about Bangladesh finest cricketer and world best all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. He was ban from international cricket for 2 years. The reason for this ban was that Shakib not expose match-fixing incidents to ICC. The complaint is very much big and ICC then decided to ban Shakib for Internationa Cricket for 2 Years.

This is a huge upset for the Bangladesh cricket team. Shakib was the game-changer in the last decade for Bangladesh and who contributed to win many matches for Bangladesh. That Bangladesh team defeated South Africa in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and Shakib Scored almost 600 runs in that whole tournament.

Shakib is the most experienced player in the Bangladesh cricket and they need him in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and the ICC t20 World Cup 2020. Most of the time he will not appear in the t20 world cup.

Bangladesh has to play qualification matches to come to the top 12 in the t20 world cup with Sri Lanka. They will face many struggles without Shakib Al Hasan.

Sri Lanka is Looking for Rajitha out and Udana back

The first t20 match between Australia and Sri Lanka ended with giving mammoth 134 run win to Australia. All the Sri Lankan bowlers struggled against Warner, Finch, and Maxwell. Nuwan Pradeep was the only successful bowler who delivered his four overs for 28 runs.

Kasun Rajitha went expensive and who gave 75 runs within his 4 overs. Sri Lanka is now looking to remove Rajitha and bring Udana back to the team. Sometimes they will remove Wanidu Hasaranga for Shehan Jayasuriya. The openers will be Kusal Mendis with Danushka Gunathilake.

This game will be more important for Kusal Perera also. He need to get his form back otherwise he will replace by Niroshan Dickwella.

Austalia comes to this game with one change. They will be eliminated Mitchell Starc for his personnel problem.

Sri Lanka further expects to strengthen their batting line up with Udana’s Come back. Udana can hit long shots and he is a useful allrounder. They will expect to bat first in Gabba Wicket. This game will be in Brisbane.

Sri Lanka Tour of Pakistan 2019 December Test Series Confirmed

Sri Lanka Cricket Team will be a tour in Pakistan for two test matches in 2019 December. This series is under the World Test Championship. This tour first announced to held in UAE. But Pakistan cricket board didn’t like to do that. There is a high cost when an arrange a tournament in another country.

Sri Lanka completed a successful tour with Pakistan early this October. But they are not performing well enough with Australia. Test cricket is a different format and Sri Lanka have vastly experience players for the test cricket.

Dinesh Chandimal is a brilliant test batsman and he is waiting to come back again to test squad. Dilruwan Perera will lead the spinning department with Lasith Embuldeniya. Suranga Lakmal will lead the fast bowling department with Nuwan Pradeep. Sri Lanka has Lakshan Sandakan as a left-arm chinamen bowler for the strong spinning department. Dananjaya de Silva is another batting all-rounder and who can spin really well. Dimuth Karunarathna is the Sri Lankan skipper and who will start the test inning with Lahiru Thirimanne. Both Kusal Mendis and Kusal Perera will play as middle players. Niroshan Dickwella will be the keeper for Sri Lanka.

Pakistan is not a good test team and they face a test match after ten long years in their home soil. They have some classy test cricketers like Babar Azam and Sarfraz Ahmed. Hope this series will be a competitive one.

First Test will be on December 11-15 in Rawalpindi and Second Test will be paly on December 19-23 in Karachi Cricket Ground. This is the first time test match play in Pakistan after a terrorist attack in 2009. After the series, Bangladesh and Ireland hope to travel for a Test series against Pakistan in Pakistan.

Sri Lanka Tour of Austarlia 2019 T20 Series – 1st Match Review

The first t20 match between Australia vs Sri Lanka was won by the Australian cricket team. That was a pretty easy game for them and they played really amazing cricket today. Sri Lanka will surely upset their performance today. They need a lot of improvements for the next game. Austalia batted first and scored mammoth 234 runs to their scorecard. Sri Lanka failed to chase down it and they only scored 99 runs for their score. The Game was held at Manuka Oval cricket ground in Adelaide.

David Warner played a brilliant inning on his birthday and who scored 100 for his nation. Aaron Finch scored a quick fifty and who built a hundred run partnership with warner for the first wicket. After Finch departs, Glenn Maxwell joined to party and who scored quick 62 with some amazing cricket shots. Sri Lankan bowlers failed to control Aussie batsmen and they delivered some poor deliveries to get runs for Australians. Only Nuwan Pradeep delivered some good bowling spell and others were failed to stop Warner, Finch and Maxwell. Lakshan Sandakan and Dasun Shanaka was the only wicket-takers among Sri Lankan bowlers. Kasun Rajitha was the poorest bowler among them and who gave 75 runs within his 4 overs. Lasith Malinga also showed some poor skills in bowling. Sri Lanka now has a doubt about Malinga's captaincy.

Sri Lanka batsmen were all struggled when facing Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummings. Starc Delivered some amazing delivery to stop Kusal Perera’s inning. Kusal Medis pulled the bowl without much thinking and then it became a catch. Danushka Gunathilaka and Bhanuka Rajapaksha were trapped by Pat Cummings. Oshada Fernando also struggled against Aussie bowlers and who only scored 13 runs from 20 bowls. Dasun Shanaka was the leading runs scorer for Sri Lanka and who scored 17 runs with a massive six. Every Sri Lanka batsman was struggled to get going. They showed some child cricket today. This less experienced side needs more experience to face strong teams like Austalia.

We hope Sri Lanka will rest Kasun Rajitha in the next game and they will recall Isuru Udana to show his skills. Udana is a t20 specialist and Sri Lanka feels his loss very tightly. Sometimes they will rest Wanidu Hasaranga in the next game and they can recall Shehan Jayasuriya to the squad. However, this is a huge challenge for young Sri Lankan side and they have to learn lot.

Sri Lanka should come back both Thisara Perera and Angelo Mathews if these young players struggled. Those two cricketers have a lot of experience in playing Australian conditions. Let’s see what will happen in the next t20 game.

What should be the Best Combination for Sri Lanka to Face Australia in Adelaide

The first t20 match between Australia vs Sri Lanka will be played on the 27^th of October 2019 at the Adelaide Oval Cricket Ground. Sri Lanka joined this tour with the new young players. If one player will not play well, they have Avishaka Fernando on the bench to replace. Sri Lankan Cricket Team Done Some Mistakes in Practice T20 Match Against Australian Primer Ministers XI

The practice T20 match between Sri Lanka vs Australian Prime minister XI was held at Canberra last October 24. The match was won by the Australian Prime Minister XI by one wicket. However, Sri Lankan bowlers bowled well to control Australian batsman. They just wanted one wicket to win the match.

Sri Lankan batting order once again failed to get going in any stage of the game. They lost Danushaka Gunathilake early and Bhanuka Rajapaksha scored quick 24. But Bhanuka dismissed against nice spinning delivery. Kusal Mendis also played ugly cricket and who has only scored 7 runs by spending 10 bowls.

Oshada Fernando tried hard to take Sri Lanka for a competitive score. But he was failed and only scored 38 runs. Oshada only spent 25 bowls for his quick 38. Niroshan Dickwella was appointed as captain on that match. But he also didn’t play well and only scored 11 runs. He played a scoop shot and found the edge by the wicketkeeper.

Dasun Shanaka looks good on this match. But he was also stumped by the wicket-keeper. Then Wanidu Hasaranga helped Sri Lanka to take 131 runs in their 20 overs. Hasaranga scored 25 runs from 28 bowls. This score looks like very much short and poor batting showed everywhere by the Sri Lankan Batsman.

Australia started well by playing some delightful boundaries. However, both Nuwan Pradeep and Kasun Rajitha eliminated three Australian batsmen for just 28 runs. Ranjitha delivered a cracking delivery to remove Chris Lynn. Kusal Mendis took classy slip catch to remove dangerous Jason Sanga. Australia was 51-3 when they come to the 10th over. Lakshan Sandakan removes three Australian batsmen with magnificent deliveries. Niroshan Dickwella also helped Sandakan with two quick stumpings. But opening batsman of Australia took Australia to near the victory. But Lahiru Kumara delayed the victory until the last over. Australia needed 10 runs in the last over of Kasun Rajitha. But they won the match of poor last over of Rajitha.

However, Sri Lankan bowlers were credited to bowl extremely well on that track. They are planning to arrange their squad for the upcoming t20 world cup. Sri Lanka now giving experiences to their new players by resting their senior players like Angelo Mathews and Lasith Malinga.

I believe Sri Lanka Should Move to Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament

Sri Lanka is one of the test cricket playing nations in the world. They have introduced some world-class cricketers to world cricket. Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardane, Sanath Jayasuriya, Muththaiah Muralidharan is some of the greatest players who took Sri Lankan cricket to the world. They are the 1996 world cricket champions. No, any other team won a world cup within 15 years after receiving test status. The main cause for their world cup success is their own talents.

The domestic cricket tournaments in Sri Lanka are not high competitive cricket tournaments like Ranji Trophy and Sheffield shield. Therefore the new players are getting struggle when they come to international cricket. But if you analyze Indian or Australian newbie players with Sri Lankan newbie players, you can easily understand they are performed higher than Sri Lankan newbie players. The major problem of the Sri Lanka cricket team is the gap between domestic cricket and international cricket.

We, everybody, know Indian new players show their talents in Indian Premier League by joining with foreign players. The Indian newbie players taking the experience from foreign top players. This is a huge experience for them. But Sri Lanka doesn’t have such a t20 league tournament. They tried to start a franchise cricket tournament on a few occasions. But it was unsuccessful due to many reasons. Another problem that the Sri Lankan Cricket Board facing is lack of advertisers. There is a need for high investment for starting such a franchise cricket tournament.

I personally believe that Sri Lanka can fill the gap between domestic cricket and international cricket once they introduced a premier league cricket tournament. If it happened Sri Lankan players can share their experience with foreign players. Indian Cricket team identified a lot of new players from the IPL cricket tournament. But Sri Lanka cannot do that because they don’t have such a tournament.

Sri Lanka cricket team is ready to face Australia for three T20 international matches in the later of these months. They arrived in Australia after a successful t20 series against Pakistan. Sri Lanka won all t20 matches and now they are very confident to face the Australian t20 side. They left out four players from their Pakistan squad and recall Lasith Malinga, Niroshan Dickwella, Kusal Perera and Kusal Medis. All the recalled players were performed well against the New Zealand series which was held in the last august. At the same time, they left out Minod Bhanuka, Angelo Perera, Lahiru Madushanka and Sadeera Samarawickrama.

Sri Lanka was played brilliantly against Pakistan in their home soil. Danushka Gunathilaka scored 57 runs in the first t20 match and Bhanuka Rajapaksha scored a quick 77 in the second t20 match. These individual performances were helped them to put a big total on the scoreboard. Sri Lankan bowlers controlled Pakistan batsmans so nicely and they won first two t20 matches very easily. Sri lanka only scored 147 runs in the third t20 match and Oshada Fernando scored magnificent 76 for that total. Wanidu Hasaranga delivered sharp spells in all three matches and who won the man of the series for his brilliant bowling.

At the same time, Australia recalled Steve Smith, Aaron Finch, Mitchell Starc and David Warner to their t20 squad again. Australia has introduced powerful side to face young Sri Lankan squad. They have lost all t20 series against Sri Lanka in their home soil. In 2017, Sri Lanka won the t20 series for 2-1. Australia has Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc as fast bowlers. Adam Zampa will play as the main spinner. Glenn Maxwell is waiting for Strong their middle order.

Sri Lanka will play their first practice match against Australia Prime Minister’s XI in the next 24. The first official t20 match will be started on 27^th of October in Adelaide Oval Cricket Ground. The second t20 the match will in Brisbane Cricket Ground and the third match be in Melbourne Cricket Ground.

I hope this series will be both fighting one. Sri Lanka have Lasith Malinga as a gun and Australia have some experienced players. The new young players of Sri Lanka playing some magical cricket and they are waiting to do their best.

Australian cricket pitches are good in fast and bounce. Therefore this will be a challenge for Sri Lankan batsman. Everybody is  looking for Bhanuka Rajapaksha and Oshada Fernando’s performances.
