The first t20 match between Australia vs Sri Lanka will be
played on the 27th of October 2019 at the Adelaide Oval Cricket Ground.
Sri Lanka joined this tour with the new young players. But Australia has
announced some senior players to their squad. They have recalled Steve Smith
and David Warner to the Playing XI. Both players were banned from cricket since
2018. Australia has Glenn Maxwell in the middle order. Both pat cummings and
Mitchell Starc will lead the Australian fast bowling attack.
Sri Lanka won the last t20 series against Pakistan. It was a
whitewash series for them and senior players were didn’t join the tour. Young
Sri Lankan players played some magical cricket to whitewash Pakistan. All three
departments were worked well and finally, they implemented their plans very well.
They recalled four senior players to come again to their t20 squad. Kusal
Mendis, Kusal Perera, Niroshan Dickwella and Lasith Malinga are the recalled
players.
Sri Lanka will most of the time open their batting with
Danushka Gunathilake and Kusal Mendis. This left-hand right-hand combination
was unsuccessful in the practice match against Prime Ministers XI. If one
player will not play well, they have Avishaka Fernando on the bench to
replace. No 3 position will be the Bhanuka Rajapaksha and who played some super
innings against giant Pakistan bowling attack. No 4 will be the Oshada Fernando
and he will follow by the Niroshan Dickwella.
Dickwella is the keeper in the Sri Lankan Cricket team. They
have Kusal Perera in the bench for replacing Dickwella if necessary. Dasun
Shanaka or Shehan Jayasuriya will be no 6 positions and they will follow up by
the wanidu Hasaranaga for the No 7 position. I hope Lakshan Sandakan, Lasith
Malinga, Nuwan Pradeep, and Kasun Rajitha will play as bowlers. They can recall
Isuru Udana for any match. However, I believe Kasun Rajitha will Replace Isuru
Udana.
Possible Sri Lanka Squad for First t20 Against Australia:
1. Danushka Gunathilake
2. Kusal Mendis
3. Bhanuka Rajapaksha
4. Oshada Fernando
5. Niroshan Dickwella
6. Dasun Shanaka
7. Wanidu Hasaranga
8. Lakshan Sandakan
9. Lasith Malinga
10. Nuwan Pradeep
11. Kasun Rajitha
Sri Lanka rested both Dinesh Chandimal and Angelo Mathews
from the t20 squads and hope they will join the team in the test series against
Pakistan in December this year.
